On Friday, Dec. 21, the drivers are conducting a coordinated strike from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. over wage discrepancies. According to the drivers, the customers are paying the same price, but the shares for the drivers have been decreased.
According to reports, Uber recently adjusted how it pays its drivers several weeks ago. The drivers make more per minute, but the rate they’re paid per mile dropped from 82 cents to 65 cents.
Hundreds of drivers are expected to strike on Friday, including at prominent travel hubs in New Haven, Hartford, Fairfield County and Bradley Airport.
“We strive to ensure drivers can maximize their earnings and are committed to helping them succeed,” Lyft officials said in a statement.
